Real Salt Lake Defender Joins AC St. Louis On-Loan
AC St. Louis, playing in the USSF Division 2 Pro League, has reached an agreement with Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer to acquire defender Chris Schuler, 22, on-loan for next four games, and possibly more, of the 2010 season.

How Acquired: On-loan from Real Salt Lake. Drafted by Real Salt Lake in the third round of the 2009 MLS SuperDraft as the 39th overall selection

Playing for Creighton.
2009· Co-captain for the Creighton Blue Jays during his senior year.· Became the ninth player in Creighton history to be named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team three times.· Named Second-Team All-Region for the third time.· Helped Creighton lead the MVC with a 0.76 goals against average.
2008· In his junior season Schuler was named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year.· Honored as a NSCAA Second Team All-American, and as an All Midwest Region First Team selection.· Also honored as a MVC First-Team, MVC All-Tournament Team, and College Soccer News Second-Team All-America honoree.· Led Creighton in minutes played with 1,852, playing in all but 12 minutes of the entire season.· Lead a Creighton defense that set a school record with 13 shutouts. 2007· Tabbed as a MVC First-Team, MVC All-Tournament Team, and College Soccer News Second-Team All-America honoree in his sophomore season.· Start all 20 matches and played in all but one minute of Creighton’s final 19 matches. · Leader on a CU defense which posted seven shutouts and led the MVC with a 0.79 goals against average.
2006· Honored as a Soccer America Freshman All-American Second-Team selection, and as a Missouri Valley Conference All-Freshman Team. · Named to the MVC All-Tournament Team after scoring the game-winning goal of the championship match.

He’s just gigantic! He’s got to be helpful for us during set pieces. I imagine he’s going to tower above many in the NASL.
