We all know at least a little about the history of St.Louis Soccer and how great it was. If you aren’t that familiar, I suggest you look into Dave Lange’s book, “Soccer Made In St.Louis..”. Whenever St.Louis soccer is discussed these days, the history always seems to come up. You can’t blame people for it, it is glorious. FC Bordo, of the NPSL, announced their 2014 inaugural season schedule earlier this week. The team will compete in the 6 team Central Conference of the Midwest Region.
The Central Conference consists of the following teams: Eau Claire Aris FC (Eau Claire, WI), FC Bordo (St.Louis, MO), Madison 56ers (Madison, WI), Minnesota Twin Stars (Minneapolis, MN), Minnesota United Reserves (Woodbury, MN) and the Quad City Eagles (Moline, IL). FC Bordo will play their home matches at St.Louis University High School.

St. Charles, MO – Their Major Indoor Soccer League season is nearly complete, but the St. Louis Ambush aren’t finished playing yet. The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, announced today they will venture outdoors to face the St. Louis Lions of the Premier Development League in a friendly match on Saturday, May 3 at the Tony Glavin Soccer Complex, located at #2 Woodlands Parkway in Cottleville. The St. Louis Ambush (4-11) host the defending champion Baltimore Blast (11-3) Thursday evening, February 6 at 7:35 p.m. at the Family Arena.
The Blast are currently in second place in the Major Indoor Soccer League standings, just one-half game behind the Milwaukee Wave. Thursday’s contest is the second of two battles between the Ambush and Blast this season and is Baltimore’s only visit to the Family Arena. In their prevous matchup, the Blast defeated the Ambush 14-2 in Baltimore on January 17. Continue reading

The Saint Louis Ambush will look to put a tough loss behind them and get back on the winning track today. The Ambush will take on the Pennsylvania Roar (0-11) today at 3:00 pm local time at the Santander Arena. The (4-7) Ambush lost on Friday January 17th by the score of 14-2 away to the Baltimore Blast (8-2) to open a four game road trip to end the month. The only goal of the match for the visitors came from Brandon Manzonelli, a newly signed forward for the Ambush in the 2nd quarter of Friday’s contest. The loss dropped the Ambush to three games behind the Missouri Comets (8-5) for the final MISL playoff spot. Continue reading
The Saint Louis Ambush head into the half-way mark of their inaugural MISL season with an record of (4-6) and find themselves 2 ½ games out of the final playoff spot behind the Missouri Comets with an game in hand. The Ambush have their most difficult road-trip of the season beginning tonight with an matchup with the Baltimore Blast (7-2), who currently sit in second place at an game behind the Milwaukee Wave. This will be the first matchup of two on the season between the two clubs and the first of three matchups against current playoff teams sandwiched around a matchup with the last place Pennsylvania Roar.
The Ambush have been off for 13 days since their 14-12 victory over the Rochester Lancers at the Family Arena on an game winning goal by Kory Dowell with less than an minute remaining in the match. The match will take place at the Baltimore Arena at 6:35pm local time and will be available for viewing on the Major League Indoor Soccer (MISL) YouTube channel and the Saint Louis Ambush You Tube channel. Local legend and Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra made popular the phrase, “It ain’t over till it’s over,” and the Saint Louis Ambush proved the local legend correct last evening. The Ambush defeated the Rochester Lancers 14-12 on a three point goal from Ambush forward Kory Dowell with less than a minute remaining in the match at the Family Arena in front of 4,398 fans. The win moves the Ambush’s record to (4-6) overall and (3-3) at home this season. The win also splits the season series with both teams winning on their respective home floors. Continue reading
