Defenders Becomes St.Louis City SC

The idea had been in the works for some time and with the aid of Tim Reeder, Ryan Malaschak, and Steve Rusnack, the idea finally became a reality.  The team name not only reflects the pride that the organization takes in playing in the city but also represents the vision that Soccer Saint Louis believes in. St. Louis Soccer Alliance Partners With FanzLive

FanzLive LogoThe St.Louis Soccer Alliance announced today that it has partnered with FanzLive, a new  App that allows users to take photos and video from live sporting events and share it with other users in the stadium and fans around the world.  This partnership was made in hopes of promoting and establishing both names in the St.Louis area.  FanzLive plans on rolling out a big promotion during the Manchester City vs Chelsea match at Busch Stadium on May 23. Wastelanders

St Louis exists in a kind of soccer wasteland. On either side of us (Kansas City and Chicago)  the game flourishes in the security of Major League Soccer. While here we are left with little more than the ruins of our glorious soccer past.

Yet in that rubble there is hope. The fans are here, the passion is here, the dream of MLS has never died. For those who still believe, those who still have faith, a new group has been born.

Fire & Ice add 2 to coaching staff

Fire & Ice Add New Assistant Coach

Fire & Ice S.C. have announced Erika Baptist as the new Assistant Coach. Baptist is a graduate of Granite City High School. In 2000 she was voted the #1 player in Southern Illinois and was named the Hazelwood Central Tournament MVP. Her senior year she was named All-Sectional, All-District, All-State, All-Midwest, and second-team Post-Dispatch All-Metro. She completed her career with 60 goals and 26 assists. She also played club ball with Busch Soccer Club for 6 years. Continue reading

Fire & Ice Add Kelsey Dinges

After graduating from Althoff Catholic High School, where she made history by becoming the first Illinois high school player to record 100 goals and 100 assists in her career, Dinges went on to play college soccer at the University of Miami – Ohio. Continue reading

Fire & Ice SC Add Prazma to Roster

Erica is a top defender who helped anchor Eastern Illinois University’s backline, including a season that posted a 0.71 goals against average, the 24th best average in the nation in 2010, and  1.22 goals against average in 2011, the third best in the conference that year. Henrik Kowalkowski Signs With St Olaf College

HenricksigningoptionfortextSt Louis, MO….St Olaf College in Northfield MN has signed local standout Henrik Kowalkowski from Crossroads College Preparatory. St Olaf is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Last year St. Olaf finished the season 11-6-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the MIAC.
